With Worlds 2024 fast approaching, let’s see what Riot Games plans to do with the upcoming update, LoL Patch 14.19.
LoL Patch 14.19 – More champion changes coming for Worlds!
Patch 14.18 has just come out on September 11 but Riot Games is not slacking off. With Worlds 2024 on Patch 14.19, the game devs have been working on a series of champions and item updates that will definitely shift the meta in the next few weeks.
K’Sante, Elise, Tristana are on the change list but alongside them we have a long series of adjustments for the large majority of the items. From boots to legendary items to even the smallest item components, Riot is tweaking a lot of stuff.
While you can find the full list of changes in the sections below, it looks like we are mainly getting some nerfs to the AP items as magic damage champions have been dominating the meta as of lately. Costs are getting adjusted across the board that will have a major impact on item spikes in the mid game especially.
Given we’re just in the first week of action, there might be more stuff coming up so let’s wait a bit more before making a full analysis on what might be the biggest patch Riot has pushed in a long time.
Additionally, Riot has been pushing to further adjust some of the key runes for marksmen champions which have dominated the meta in the higher parts of the ranked ladder.
Patch 14.19 Release Date
According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.19 will be released on Wednesday, September 25. This will be the 19th patch out of the 24 updates planned for the year.
How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?
It’s hard to make a clear analysis currently since we are not sure on how many changes there will be in total. Looking at the champion, Elise is definitely getting a buff and the same goes for Tristana following the nerfs in previous patches. K’Sante looks like yet another fix to make him less mobile and more of a juggernaut tank that scales well. I’m mainly looking at the scaling changes: now that he will scale with resistances, he won’t be able to stack health infinitely with Grasp of the Undying, eventually capping his damage output later in the game.
