According to leaker ShiinaBR, Fortnite is reportedly considering adding Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar. It was undeniably one of the biggest songs of the summer and one of the biggest rap songs in recent memory. It was central to the rap beef between Lamar and Drake, which took the music industry by storm for months.
Now, it could be the latest song added to Fortnite in some capacity. The leak did not say whether it would be for an emote, a festival track, or something else.
Despite the leak and the reported presence of Not Like Us in a survey, it is very difficult to imagine this song making it into the game. It’s not as if Fortnite doesn’t have adult-themed or explicit songs in their game already, but this is different. They have censored versions of songs like vampire, Popular, The Way Life Goes, and others.
However, the subject matter of Not Like Us makes it hard to envision an addition. The song has plenty of censor-worthy explicit lyrics, but even those without adult language might need to be adjusted. It also involves accusations of something very serious, which is not ideal for a game that has a younger core audience.
