Spacestation Gaming are your HWC 2024 champions, after beating OpTic Gaming in yet another Grand Final. No bracket reset was needed here, as SSG came out 4:3 victors in this rematch from last month’s HCS Salt Lake City Major 2024 Grand Final. Spacestation Gaming emerge from this tournament as the best competitive Halo team in the world, as well as a cool $400,000 cash prize.

HCS Atlanta Major 2024. HCS Salt Lake City Major 2024. Now, the Halo World Championship 2024. Three back-to-back trophies for Spacestation Gaming now, marking an epic end to 2024 for the team. They had to complete their victory in the most dramatic of fashions. The Grand Final began with OpTic taking a 3:0 lead, just one map away from resetting the bracket and taking us to another best-of-7 series.
A switch flicked for SSG after this point. They won every single map afterwards, getting the job done with a remarkable reverse-sweep while showing their best possible Halo. 4:3 was the score as Spacestation Gaming were crowned champions of the HWC 2024. Lqgend was the eventual MVP for SSG, coming alive when his team needed it most with 110 slays across the series. This is the best Halo team in the world right now, no question.
More Grand Final pain for OpTic

If this OpTic roster weren’t mentally broken before this Grand Final, they surely will be now. The HWC 2024 marks SIX Grand Final losses in a row now for OpTic, a run that, incredibly, spans all the way back to the Halo World Championship 2023! It’s not just the loss that will hurt here, though. It’s the manner in which they lost. At 3:0 up, there are no excuses for OpTic at least managing a bracket reset. To get reverse-sweeped in a best-of-seven when so close to achieving that would break any team. Honestly, you could feel it in the air from 3:2 onwards.
So, what next for OpTic? We don’t know. This team just doesn’t seem to have what it takes to get it over the line, despite being so consistent in reaching those Grand Finals. It’s an unfortunate run that has to end at some point, but with each loss, the wound grows deeper and deeper. Keep an eye on what happens with this roster heading into 2025.
