Final Fantasy XIV is launching a new free login campaign today (Oct. 11) until the end of the month to entice lapsed FFXIV players back to Square Enix’s premier MMO. News of the login campaign broke early on Friday morning across social media.
From Oct. 11 until Oct. 31, players who have previously been subscribed but no longer have an active subscription can log in for up to 96 hours, or four days, over the next month. Players must have been inactive from FFXIV for at least 30 days to claim the free login.

The free FFXIV play period begins from the moment you login to claim the free time, and will continue until the end of the fourth day at 23:59 (GMT). This means you may get slightly less than four days if you log in later in the day. Once the four days are up, you’ll need to renew your subscription to continue playing.
The free login will be valid for all versions of the game that you have previously purchased license for, including PC, Steam, PS4 or PS5.
Overall, four days might not seem like a lot, but if you’ve been absent for a while, there’s definitely a lot in Final Fantasy XIV you’ve missed, from the graphical update that came with the release of Dawntrail, to the expanded story, new raids, and more.
There’s also the Moogle Treasure Trove Hunt for Goetia event which is set to start later this month. From Oct. 15, players will be able to unlock new cosmetic items and old favorite mounts and minions via the Moogle Treasure Trove event.

FFXIV is continuing through the lifecycle of the Dawntrail expansion. Released in July of this year, Dawntrail received praise for its gameplay and innovations, but a mixed reception to its smaller-scale story. Still, if you’re a dedicated FFXIV player, there’s still plenty to do in-game, and you should check out the FFXIV Dawntrail patch schedule to make sure you never miss and update.
