Space Marine 2 has been out for just over a month now, and players will have likely ground their way through the campaign, the operations, and be tearing things up in PvP, so an update is welcome. Luckily, the game’s next update seems huge, as revealed yesterday (Oct. 15).

As per a trailer released yesterday on Saber Interactive’s official channels, Space Marine 2 players can expect a brand new Operation, new Lethal Difficulty, a new weapon, the Neo Volkite Pistol, and a new enemy to fight.

Additionally, Season Pass owners will receive a brand new Space Marine Chapter, the Dark Angels, and their Successors to the game. With a series of cosmetics, weapon skins, icons, and more, you’ll be able to take to the battlefield as The Unforgiven, the chosen brothers of the Dark Angels and their successor chapters.

Space Marine 2 Update Details

New Operation

The new three-player operation will bring the total number of multiplayer operations up to seven, and give you a dangerous new enemy to fight – the Hierophant Bio-Titan – an enormous titan-class enemy that will need some concerted effort to defeat.

Lethal Difficulty

Obviously, we’ve already all mastered Ruthless threat level difficulty… right? Still, the new Lethal difficulty will be a great way to upgrade your classes and continue improving your Operations marines.

Neo Volkite Pistol

The final free part of the upcoming update is the Neo Volkite Pistol. Details about its capabilities are slim, but in the 40k lore, Volkite weapons are used to kill Space Marines, as it’s one of the few things that can easily bypass their ceramite armor. As a result, this could be an armor-piercing weapon.

For Season Pass owners, you’ll also get access to the Dark Angels, a chapter that’s been oddly unrepresented in the game so far. Well, we now have the answer as to why, as they’re the first Season Pass chapter to be added. So expect wings, winged helms, swords, and other goodies in-game.

There’s also hints at some Multiplayer PvP additions, such as a new arena and some new customization. Overall, it’s looking like the Space Marine 2 update content is going to flow for the foreseeable future.
