Now a little into release, we’ve got some of our first batches of changes for sparking Zero! A big release to fix things up and sort out any of the early bugs or problems from the release period. What exactly has changed in the first real Sparking Zero patch notes?

The big difference is bug fixes. Even though Sparking Zero had a Day 1 patch, there have been a few issues that needed a fix more urgently. Beyond that, the game clearly had a balancing problem. The bean-hungry Yajirobe has been menacing players, thanks to a poorly thought-out healing mechanic. These are all of the major changes in the Sparking Zero patch notes:

Sparking Zero Patch Notes

Yajirobe

One fighter has stood out since Sparking Zero launched, Yajirobe. He was able to heal himself with a Sensu Bean that gave him a ridiculous advantage if you were willing to use cheese strategies. More often than not, it can be quicker just to quit against a Yajirobe. This has been fixed with the latest update.

Bug Fixes

The other major part of the Sparking Zero patch notes we know about are bug fixes. A few major fixes have been brought in, including one for the problem of controls being unresponsive. These should be fixes with the latest update to Sparking Zero.

Other Balance Changes

Yajirobe is the big victim, but are there other balancing changes? It seems Bandai has made some smaller adjustments to quite a few characters. Since we don’t have full patch notes it’s difficult to quantify though. Since Sparking Zero isn’t a competitive fighting game the exact numbers being tweaked likely won’t impact you too much. It’s good to see that the most obnoxious strategies like the Yajirobe healing are being dealt with though.

Why Aren’t There Full Sparking Zero Patch Notes?

Those are the patch notes we have at the moment, but why hasn’t a full list been provided? The game doesn’t seem to be releasing a blow-by-blow version of its updates. Unlike some games, Sparking Zero is doing vaguer updates. For some changes like to specific characters, you’ll likely pick up on the change when you play, even if it hasn’t been explained.

As Sparking Zero is a more casual game, most parts of it haven’t been altered. There isn’t a change to most gameplay features like summoning Porunga or anything. However, players should find a smoother experience when they jump into Sparking Zero after these patch notes.
