The Thunderpick WC 2024 has its final four teams, after the conclusion of today’s Play-In phase. It’s been a hard-fought battle for all four of the teams, who from November 2nd will head to Berlin to take part in the Thunderpick WC 2024 LAN Finals. So who made the cut? Let’s take a look.

OG are on their way to a miracle run in the Thunderpick WC 2024. Reminder – they weren’t even meant to be here, only entering after receiving a last-minute invite when UNPAID (formerly BLEED) were unable to make the event. Now, they’ve secured a top-four finish, as well as a spot in the LAN Finals, which begin on November 2nd.

Here, they were met by BIG, who actually managed to take the first map pretty comfortably. A response from OG followed on the second, before an impressive 13:1 blowout laid down the law on the final map of Ancient. MoDo was the main star for OG throughout the series, going 59:27, although you have to be impressed with how F1KU has turned his own individual form around throughout this CS2 tournament. OG now head to the LAN Finals as underdogs once more, but if they play like this, then who knows what could happen.

Heroic beat Fnatic with ease

Yep. We saw this coming. Heroic‘s form has been resurgent of late, and Fnatic have done very little to inspire confidence in the idea that they could win here. As it turns out, they couldn’t, with Heroic winning out a very comfortable 2:0 series to secure their spot in the Thunderpick WC 2024 LAN Finals.

As long as TeSeS, degster, and NertZ are firing on all cylinders like this, Heroic will emerge victorious in most games they play. It’s that simple. Heading to next month’s Finals, we’ve got Heroic down as our favorites to win the event.

The MongolZ make the cut against Imperial

The MongolZ continue to show why they’ve got a developing reputation as one of the best CS2 teams in the world right now. Here, in the Thunderpick WC 2024 Play-In, they were made to work for their efforts against Imperial, the two trading map picks before The MongolZ were able to take the Inferno decider. An epic CT side was the difference for The MongolZ on Inferno, allowing them to progress to the LAN Finals without many worries.

Interestingly, three players on The MongolZ went negative on the scoreboard across all three maps, while AWPer 910 went positive by just a single kill. So how did The MongolZ get the job done here? The numbers would suggest that a lights-out performance from Senzu was the reason The MongolZ are going to Berlin next month. 71:43 was his final score, showing his teammates how it’s done.

3DMAX outclass BESTIA in three maps

3DMAX almost made a right hash of it against BESTIA, needing all three maps to get the job done in the Thunderpick WC 2024 Play-In. What’s important is that they got there in the end, but at several points, this was a very vulnerable 3DMAX. Realistically, they should have won in two, but several throws meant BESTIA were able to drag this one the distance. They managed to get the important swing rounds on the Anubis decider, booking their Berlin spot.

So, there you have it: OG, Heroic, The MongolZ, and 3DMAX are your top four. Who do you think will come out on top in the upcoming LAN Finals? One thing’s for sure – it’ll be a fiery set of matches in Germany.
