One of the biggest things to look forward to in Fortnite right now is the return of OG. The flashback game mode is coming back to the game permanently. However, this week we’ve started getting teases for something nobody expected. It’s looking like there will be a Fortnite OG pass to go along with the game mode.

Fortnite already has multiple Passes. It’s most famous for its Battle Pass, where quite a few of the best Fortnite skins originated. However, it now has a separate pass or Fortnite Festival, along with a Lego pass that runs from time to time. Out of the new Chapter 5 modes, only Rocket Racing didn’t get its own pass.

If you were looking for more ways to buy skins, you’re about to get one. Fortnite OG returning as a permanent mode will mean the addition of another new pass. What does it mean for players and what will be included in the new Fortnite OG Pass?

Fortnite OG Pass Coming with New Mode

In the lead up to December, we’re looking forward to the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 and OG as a permanent mode. However, the topic of old Battle Passes has come up a lot. With new Passes losing exclusivity, fans hoped OG meant old Battle Passes could come back. Epic confirmed they can’t. However, now we’re learning there’s a new Fortnite OG pass planned too.

The OG Pass likely won’t be old items from the game, instead another new pass full of cosmetics. These could be similar in design to the OG season’s mini-pass, which remixed classic Chapter 1 designs with more modern Fortnite characters.

In terms of size, we can probably expect it to be closer to the Festival and Lego Passes than the Battle Pass. These each focus on only one skin and some extra cosmetics. While the Battle Pass is great value, splitting it up like this means players don’t have to grind through 150 levels of three separate passes. It also means they can charge a little less for them.

The Fortnite OG Pass will definitely be an interesting addition to the game. Since the Passes are going to be grouped together in the future, it might be easier to keep track of. If this was yet another new pass still separated out, the number might have been reaching an unmanageable level! It’s always great to get more skins too, even if Pass skins aren’t quite free Fortnite skins like those from promotions.
