To celebrate the new start of the 2025 season and the fast-approaching Lunar New Year, Riot Games will be giving the Chinese server additional rewards in the upcoming days. Here’s what players will get.

Riot Games is handing out Free Chests and Blue Essence bonuses on the Chinese server
On January 12, the League of Legends Operations Team published a blog post on the Chinese LoL official website, thanking the community for their support during the start of the new season.
“Dear Summoners, since the launch of the first themed season in 2025, we have seen your enthusiasm for the new season and have received numerous suggestions from you. The League of Legends team remains committed to focusing on the gaming experience of our summoners, listening attentively, and driving forward subsequent plans.”
Riot is planning to collect feedback, asking the community to take part in a survey that will be available in the client. In the meanwhile, the devs have decided to offer special limited-time rewards from January 12 to January 15, with a special Lunar New Year event launching on January 16.
How to collect the rewards
From January 12 to January 15, Riot Games added an extra 1,000 Blue Essence from each daily free chest, giving a total of 3,000 BE to the players to spend on chromas or new champions.
On top of that, Riot Games will give every summoner on the Chinese server a free chance to participate in the Zhenlong Treasure Event. All accounts with a level of 15 or higher can claim 290 diamonds on the event page to take part and try out the new inaugural themed season.
With the Lunar New Year taking place at the end of January, Riot Games has confirmed that the new event, called “Fortune Star Tea House”, will also give additional rewards. More details will be given at a later date, so stay tuned for more news on the new 2025 season and the latest patch notes.
