Since their roster announcement in 2024, all eyes of the VCT EMEA fans have been on Team Liquid. Their journey within the VCT EMEA league in the last two years hasn’t been ideal, to say the least. It has been a while since the organization qualified for one of the international VALORANT tournaments.

Things looked the same during their first match against KOI Esports in the VCT EMEA Kickoff 2025. The team couldn’t take the lead even once on the first map of Fracture – losing the series 13-10.

Their fortunes turned, however, when they played on the map of Abyss. It felt like someone flicked a switch within Team Liquid. They went on to win 11 out of the 12 rounds on the attack. They continued this momentum in the decider map. While the first half ended with a scoreline of 6-6, Team Liquid never lost the lead in the second half. Team Liquid’s Keiko stole the show by ending the game with a positive K:D of +15 and a 62% headshot%.

This victory proved that while Team Liquid is still on defense, they have the mentality to clutch all the necessary rounds to secure the win.

Series Breakdown

Going into this game, FUT Esports haven’t played a single match. This is due to the team receiving a bye for their performance during the previous season. This will be the first match the Turkish organization will play without Cned. Instead, the young Turkish player xeus will be joining the roster.

Seeing their previous matches within VCT EMEA, we know Team Liquid’s strong suit is on the attack. Thus, they will have a higher chance to win a series if they start on the attack.

At the same time, the map ban won’t affect the team quite a bit. In their previous game against KOI Esports, the map where they won 13-3 was the opponent’s map pick. Honestly, this feels like an opportunity for TL to take advantage of the fact that FUT Esports hasn’t played a match in this tournament.

But one must not forget about FUT Esports, either. Their last tournament was the Red Bull Home Ground 2024. During this event, they finished second, losing to T1 in a close series. The star of that match was the 20-year-old duelist Xeus. Our prediction for this game is 2-1 in favor of FUT Esports.
