This match-up is quite a surprise. The last time we saw Nongshim RedForce take on Boom Esports was during the nail-biting grand final at VCT Pacific Ascension 2024. The match ended in overtime, with the Nongshim RedForce squad winning, followed by an incredible clutch by Persia.

This matchup is surprising because both teams qualified from this year’s VCT Ascension tournament, so they were placed on opposite sides of the brackets to avoid facing each other in the upper bracket. While Boom Esports lost their first match in VCT Pacific Kickoff against T1, Nongshim Esports easily defeated Zeta Division. In their match against the Korean powerhouse DRX, the team lost the series 2-1, dropping them to the lower bracket.

Series Breakdown

Predicting the winner in this match is quite challenging. Both teams have had moments of brilliance in previous matches. The key point both teams will need to work on is their first kill-to-first-death ratio. None of the teams have been able to maintain a dominating positive ratio during their matches, which has resulted in them losing rounds because they were unable to make the most of the first kill.

If Famouz and BerserX can keep up their current form, then Boom Esports stands a chance to win this rematch. Due to their recent form and Persia’s incredible clutch potential, we feel Nongshhim will win this series 2-1. But yes, there is a high chance that all three will go to overtime.

The VCT Pacific Kickoff is taking place from Jan. 18 to Feb. 9. The top two teams from here will move on to the Masters Bangkok in the VCT 2025.
