One of the best fighting games has just been released on another platform, the Guilty Gear Strive Nintendo Switch edition. This brings maybe the biggest recent fighting game of its genre to the platform, a little late, just months before a new platform replaces it. However, Guilty Gear is one of a few modern fighters coming to the platform.
Guilty Gear Strive has been out for more than 4 years at this point. It’s racked up a lot of sales across its various platforms and it easily stands as one of the best fighting games on any platform. Now it’s come to Switch. How will the Guilty Gear Strive Switch edition handle though, can the platform run the game in a decent quality.
Guilty Gear Strive Nintendo Switch Edition Launches
Guilty Gear Strive is coming to Switch! Finally, the game will be arriving on the platform, joining Smash Bros and some older titles in other games. More modern fighting game releases have either skipped the Switch, or in the case of Mortal Kombat releasing a version that’s borderline unplayable. However, Guilty Gear Strive isn’t the cutting-edge title that Street Fighter 6.
Since GGS is an older title, it looks like it’s going to run pretty well on Switch. Maybe not to the level you can play the platform in fighting game esports grand finales. However, it’ll definitely be a nice entry point to the game. The Guilty Gear Strive Nintendo Switch edition features 28 characters, and there’s loads more out there. Including more DLC that’s still coming to the title.
The last few weeks have been pretty exciting for Guilty Gear fans. The game might be a few years old, but we’re getting progress on the Guilty Gear anime adaptation along with this new release for Switch. There’s going to be easier routes into playing GGS than ever before.
