Well over a year after the game was initially released, Valve has confirmed that Season 2 of CS2 Premier Mode is finally set to begin next week. Gamers were beginning to worry Season 2 would never come, but Valve has finally addressed the elephant in the room and verified that it’s on the way.
CS2 Premier Mode Season 2 is coming
Before we move on to the juicy Season 2 CS2 Premier details, there’s some unfinished business with Season 1. Players who played the game mode during Season 1 and earned a CS Rating will earn a Premier Season 1 medal, which will allow you to view all of your stats across this period.
The transition between Seasons will result in a day of downtime, where ratings will be recalibrated based on performance across Season 1. When Season 2 does begin, players will still have to win 10 matches to regain their rank, though.
Now, onto the real interesting stuff. As expected, the Season 2 update will bring Train into the CS2 map pool for Vertigo, a change already reflected in the pro scene at the moment. The M4A4 is also getting a price reduction to $2900, making it the same price as the M4A1-S. New CT meta? The FAMAS has also been buffed with changes to standing and crouching accuracy, as well as a price cut of its own. Valve has yet to confirm exactly what price this will be.
The blog post also points out that CS2 Premier Season 2 will last until “after the Austin Major,” so it’s good to know we won’t be waiting another year or more for another Season. Season 2 of CS2 Premier mode is set to begin “next week,” although Valve hasn’t given a concrete date for when the update will land. Enjoy Vertigo while you can, CS fans!
