The Monster Hunter Wilds Beta is coming soon. The game is one of the most highly anticipated titles of 2025 and figures to be a possible Game of the Year award contender. It is going to be available on a wide variety of platforms, and those platforms will all get the chance to try the latest beta. This is not the first beta for the game. There was one back in November.
Not everyone got to play that one. Several players also expressed a desire to try it out again before the full release in a little over a month. Capcom was happy enough to oblige by offering another beta with more rewards. There are two date ranges for the beta, so here’s everything you need to know about joining.

All About the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta
To join the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta, you can visit the official site. The second open beta, a.k.a OBT2, will be available first on February 7-10 and then again on February 14-17. That’s before the February 28 wide release date. The first test was largely designed to catch bugs and gameplay issues and garner feedback. The second one will do the same, but major changes won’t take place before the launch at the end of next month.
You will, along with all the new content and the rewards given out, also be able to take on a returning fan-favorite monster from the series: Gypceros. You’ll get a special pendant for participating as well as the following rewards:
- Raw Meat x10
- Shock Trap x3
- Pitfall Trap x3
- Tranq Bomb x10
- Large Barrel Bomb x3
- Armor Sphere x5
- Flash Pod x10
- Large Dung Pod x10
To claim these rewards and more in the full version of the game once it releases, you have to use the same platform and account that you used for the second open beta. You must also be connected to the internet. Those who played the first one can play the second one, but Monster Hunter did caution everyone that they are still reviewing all the feedback and implementing the changes for the full game moving forward.
