An outfit might initially grab your eye, but if you’re prone to impulse purchases it can be helpful to know how to refund Fortnite skins. Sometimes you buy a character, but for some reason don’t want them in your locker anymore. In these cases, you can get your V-Bucks back. But only a few times a year.
Like anything in the Item Shop, Fortnite does allow you to get a refund for skins. It’s a system which wasn’t always in the game, but it has been established for quite a while now. Players get a certain number of refunds each year. With no questions asked, you can take back a purchase for each ticket. However, once they’re gone, you’re stuck with your purchases.
Here’s plenty of reasons you might want to refund a Fortnite skin. From not liking how it actually looks in-game, to realizing you needed to save your V-Bucks for something else. If you have changed your mind about a skin, then this is how to refund Fortnite skins.
How to Refund Fortnite Skins
The process for how to refund Fortnite skins isn’t too complicated but there are limitations. This is the process you’ll need to go through if you want to get out of purchasing a skin:
- Log into Fortnite
- Go into your Settings
- Through to Account and Privacy
- Find Recent Purchases
- Click Return or Cancel Purchase
- Pick the item you want to return
- Click Use Return Ticket
- Another confirmation screen comes up. Click Yes.
Once done, your Fortnite skin refund has gone ahead! You’ll learn how many V-Bucks you’re going to get back, which should be the price of the purchase. You’ll be down a Fortnite skin, but you do get the refund for the full item. This doesn’t work for the Battle Pass or subscriptions though, so you can’t return Fortnite Crew skins through this system.
What Items Can be Refunded
That’s how to refund Fortnite skins, but there are some limitations. Only items purchased in the last 30 days can be refunded. You can’t get your V-Bucks back from stuff you purchased back in an older Fortnite season. However, as long as you make your mind up within roughly a month, you’ll be able to go ahead with the refund.
Refund Tickets
The other part of the equation for how to refund Fortnite skins is that you’re limited by tickets. You can only refund Fortnite skins if you have a ticket to do it with. Each refund uses one. You get three of them, but once they’re used you only get 1 back a year.
Over time, players will likely run out of refund tickets. While it is possible to refund skins, you’ll need to keep these limitations in mind. You can’t try out the entire item shop every day, you’ll run out of tickets eventually.
