Regional Expansion in COD Mobile 2025 Esports Roadmap
The 2025 season will broaden its international reach by holding tournaments in six regions: North America, Europe, India, LATAM, Japan, and Africa for the first time. This regionalization is a strategic step towards leveraging different competitive scenes and expanding mobile gaming communities worldwide. Local events tailored to regional tastes are likely to connect with regional players while feeding into the global championship system.
Redesigned Championship Divisions
COD Mobile will include two separate divisions for the world championship for the first time in history. The Legendary division will be reserved for top-tier players, though, which are Grandmasters and Legendary players. The Open division will match players of lower ranks against one another.
Players in Open division will get to earn COD Points and FACEIT Points. According to the official roadmap reveal video, the rewards will be closely aligned with performance and skill levels. Such thoughtfully designed features are one of the many reasons why COD Mobile is so popular.
COD Mobile 2025 Esports Roadmap Tournament Stages
The competitive season will begin on April 25th with stage one of in-app solo ranked play, meant to gain ranked points. Depending on the success of the solo phase, it will bring players to stage two, where team ranked play becomes the focus starting on June 4th. The Open division will end its campaign after this stage.
In stage three, 64 teams per region will battle to secure a top 16 finish, narrowing down further as the best eight from each region advance to stage four beginning July 26th. At this stage, teams will be split into two GSL groups and face off in best-of-five series, with only the top two from each region moving forward.

The last phase of the season is played out in a double-elimination bracket. The definitive split of the $1 million prize pool, however, hasn’t been determined yet.
The world championship last year took place in Atlanta at the Georgia World Congress Center. Here, the Philippine-American team Elevate won the competition and a prize of $400,000 USD.
