If we have drew your attention in the slightest, then stay tuned as we walk you through The Midnight Walk release date, including the platforms you can play the game on, and finally, a scary reveal trailer to really get you excited about this game.

What is The Midnight Walk release date?

The Midnight Walk release date is May 8, 2025, meaning players have just under a month before they can get their hands on this thrilling game. At the time of writing this article, no early access options have been announced. If there was going to be one, it would have been announced early, with just under four weeks until the game hits the market.

According to the PlayStation Store, one of the places that the game will be released on, The Midnight Walk will come out locally at midnight (boo!) across all available regions.

Platforms

As mentioned above, The Midnight Walk will be coming out on the PlayStation, as well as the PlayStation VR2, which hosts virtual reality games. It’s not surprising that a deal with Microsoft has not been struck, given that the Xbox does not have its own virtual reality platform. It has not been stated whether the game will be coming instantly to the PS5’s subscription service, PlayStation Plus.

The only two places you’ll be able to get The Midnight Walk are the PlayStation 5 and the PC via the following VR supports:

  • Index
  • Quest via Link
  • Rift S
  • Rift

Although it’s not one of those crossplay horror games you can play with your friends, there’s plenty for you to do in the single player campaign.

As for the type of PC you’ll need to run this game, you’re going to need a solid rig to process everything, with the processor carrying more of the weight than a graphics card. You’ll still need a serviceable graphics card, but you won’t need the most up-to-date card. That being said, here are the minimum PC requirements for The Midnight Walk we know before its release date:

  • Operating System: Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel I7-1180 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 3060 or AMD 6700
  • Storage: 100 GB available space

Details

As stated above, this is a horror fantasy game that has been built for virtual reality. And while you can play the game just fine without it, you’re much better off getting the game if you are able to use a VR headset, either on the PlayStation 5 or the PC. Here’s a snippet game description from the Steam landing page:

“Become The Burnt One, befriend a lost lantern creature named Potboy, and use his flame to light your way through a conflicting world of wonder and horror. Survive and outsmart the many monsters eager to devour your little friend’s flame as you experience five tales of fire and darkness, featuring an incredible cast of odd characters.”
