If you played the original Oblivion, you may remember the item dupe glitch. This exploit allowed you to duplicate items in massive quantities, making it super easy to get tons of money quickly. Guess what? The item dupe glitch exists in Oblivion Remastered, too, although it works slightly differently from how you might remember it. It’s still very simple to do, though, as simple as changing your appearance in Oblivion Remastered.
We’re going to show you how to do the item dupe glitch in Oblivion Remastered on all platforms, so you never have to worry about running low on anything in Bethesda’s latest RPG ever again.
How to do the Item Dupe Glitch in Oblivion Remastered (Console and PC)
Doing the item dupe glitch in Oblivion Remastered is easy. It’s almost too easy, and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it. To start, you’ll need to have a large stack quantity of items. Don’t worry – this doesn’t have to be the item you want to duplicate, but the number you have of this item will be the amount you duplicate in a moment. Next, find any kind of empty storage container. This can be a barrel, a sack – anything as long as it’s not owned and is empty.
To begin, put one of the items you want to duplicate in the storage container. For the purposes of this guide, we’re going to use the item dupe glitch in Oblivion Remastered to duplicate some Skooma.
On console, when the item is in the container, scroll down to an item of a high quantity in your inventory. Hit RB + A on Xbox or R1 + X on PlayStation at the same time. For the PC version of this, drag the high quantity item from your inventory on top of the item you want to duplicate. It’s important you drag it on top, or else it won’t work. Also, note that it won’t actually look like you’re dragging anything – don’t worry. Just make sure your cursor is over the item in the container and let go.
Now, you’ll be on the “How Many?” screen. Ensure this is set to the maximum, and double-tap the “Enter” key extremely quickly (if you’re on PC). On Xbox and PlayStation, these are the “A” or “X” buttons you need to press twice rapidly. Check your inventory, and the item should be duplicated based on the number of items you had in your dragged stack. Easy!
From my own testing of the item dupe glitch in Oblivion Remastered, it appears you can do this with literally any item, so it’s not just small stackables like arrows and potions. If you want, you can duplicate huge amounts of these items to sell for tons of cash!
