FFXIV’s Make It Rain Campaign Returns for 2025 with Mahjong Theming
As mentioned, the Make It Rain Campaign will start on May 19, and continue for just over three weeks until Wednesday, June 11. During the campaign, subtitled In The Court of the Cards’ Own King (a kind of really reaching pun to The Court of the Crimson King?), players will receive 50% increased MGP rewards from all Golden Saucer activities.
Additionally, by completing the event quest, players will receive a new Overreact emote, and King Elmer III Triple Triad Card. Players can start the event quest in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald, by speaking to the Ebullient Citizen (X: 9.5, Y: 9.1). Make sure you’re level 15 and have completed a good chunk of the MSQ so it’s unlocked.

It’s this event quest that is likely the part that’s linked to Mahjong – either by the characters or the story. Or, this could just be a cute image with characters playing Mahjong and it’s completely unrelated. FFXIV has a habit of doing that with its event key art.
Beyond this, there’s also items from previous Make It Rain Campaigns available for purchase from the Campaign Attendant NPC. And the Campaign Attendant is offering Crystal Tower striker, Monster Toss machine, Cuff-a-Cur machine, and a number of other prizes for a reduced cost.
The Make It Rain Campaign has been a staple in FFXIV since 2016, and usually takes place around June time. During the event, the already generous Golden Saucer becomes even more lucrative, offering additional prizes. This year, the event has arrived slightly earlier, likely to accommodate patches and other events in the Summer.
