Blacksmith Master might not be the biggest release of the month, but it is absolutely shaping up to be a sleeper hit for this year. The calendar is filled with huge game releases, but the smaller ones deserve attention as well.

So far, Blacksmith Master has been getting a lot of early love on Steam and other places. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Blacksmith Master Release Date

Blacksmith Master is set for release on May 15. There does not appear to be any early access for the game, so all players will be able to play it on that day. This is true for all platforms, so there shouldn’t be any staggered releases. It should go live for everyone at the same time on May 15.

Platforms

The game is available on Steam, which makes it a PC game. That is not the only platform, but it’s the only major one. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users, as well as either Nintendo Switch 1 or 2 users, are unable to get their hands on this game for now. That may change in the future, but not on launch. It is also available on Linux, iOS, and Android, so it’s effectively a PC and mobile game for the time being.

Blacksmith Master Trailer

The trailer shows off most of what you can expect. The gameplay, from designing your shop to doing the menial tasks to actually running it, is on full display over some fitting medieval theme music. There are a lot of menus to navigate and simple gameplay on display, but this is a simple game. It does more than enough to entice players to check it out.

Details

In this game, you get to take charge of your own medieval smithy. The game tasks you with running the entire process: mining ores and gems and designing and selling products. You can forge weapons and armor, tools, and cooking utensils. All this is done to fund your life as you work to become, fittingly, the Blacksmith Master. There are both head-on and top-down camera angles, and you have complete creative control over how your smithy looks and runs.

The game reminds us a lot of Tavern Master – made by the same developer, and we believe it likely uses the same engine. Expect similar gameplay if you’ve already played Tavern Master. While we don’t know if Blacksmith Master is going to win any major awards (especially in a year where we might get Silksong ), this is definitely going to be a cozy management game that scratches an itch we know everyone has sometimes.
