After suffering a hiccup at the start of the FISSURE Playground 2 (FPG2) double-elimination playoffs, the Dota 2 world champions, Team Falcons, bounced back with vigor.

FPG2 was the first S-Tier LAN event to wrap up after The International 2025 (TI14). For Team Falcons, it was a chance to show strength as the TI14 champions and claim another piece of silverware for their huge trophy cabinet.

In the group stage, Falcons showed no mercy, going up 3-0 to earn a spot in the playoffs stage, beating MOUZ, Team Liquid, and BetBoom Team. Before the playoffs got underway, their midlaner, Stanislav “Malr1ne” Potorak, received an account ban, but the issue was quickly resolved, and the player was cleared of any wrongdoing.

The TI14 winners clearly had the hunger for another trophy after lifting the Aegis of Champions. However, MOUZ took revenge for the 2-1 group stage defeat, smashing Team Falcons 2-0 in the upper bracket quarterfinals.

In the lower bracket, facing possible elimination in each best-of-three match, Team Falcons powered up.

The reigning champions dispatched three top-ranked squads in a row, starting with a 2-1 win over Tundra Esports, then Team Spirit with a 2-1, and a 2-1 reverse-sweep against Team Liquid.

To claim a spot in the grand final of FPG2, Falcons put an end to Team Yandex’s impressive underdog story with a clean 2-0 win in the lower bracket final.

In the best-of-five grand final of FPG2, it was BetBoom Team who drew first blood. However, Team Falcons would not be denied another trophy, showing their big-match temperament to win three games in a row and close out the series 3-1 for a decisive win.

On stage during the winner celebrations, Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen explained that Team Falcons had been on the edge of defeat before, but that he was glad they “kept their cool” to make a lower bracket run. Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu further noted that he thinks they” could have lost every step of the way,” and that it was one of the hardest tournaments for the team, thus far.

Team Falcons is only two wins away from claiming another trophy. The powerhouse squad is sitting pretty at BLAST Slam IV’s playoffs stage, awaiting their opponents in the semifinals after topping the group stage.

They’ll compete in the semifinals on November 8 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, and if they win, they’ll fight for the trophy in the grand final on November 9.
