VALORANT is known for its incredible graphics and unique gameplay. Since June, the game’s console version has also been released through a limited beta. Fans have provided quite a positive response to VALORANT Console, resulting in it being in multiple regions worldwide. As we head to the next VALORANT update of Patch 9.02, various changes are present on the game’s PC and console versions. Let’s look at all the new changes in the upcoming VALORANT Patch 9.02
The introduction of Toggleable Abilities Within VALORANT Patch 9.02
Every 2-3 weeks, VALORANT releases new updates to the game. The main objective of these updates is to reduce the number of bugs within the game.
VALORANT Patch 9.02 mainly focuses on adding some features within VALORANT Console, some unique to the console variant of the game and some already present within VALORANT PC. VALORANT Console is now available for all PS5 and Xbox Series X users in certain regions.
The first feature introduced within VALORANT Console in Patch 9.02 is the map of Icebox. This has been a long-awaited addition for fans of the game. Icebox is one of the oldest maps released in Episode 2. The map of Icebox will be available within the Competitive, Unrated, Swift Play, and Deathmatch queues in VALORANT Console. For new console players, we recommend agents such as Jett, Phoenix, Viper, and Killjoy, who will be available to help players learn more about the map.
The second feature available for the VALORANT Console is Toggleable Abilities. During the limited beta of VALORANT Console, fans faced some difficulties with particular abilities. Particular abilities require players to hold down a button to activate them, which results in some players facing issues with movement within the game. To combat this, VALORANT has released the new feature, Toggleable Abilities. Specific abilities now that used to require players to hold a button can now active it with a touch and release. Below are some of the abilities that can be set to Toggleable within the Agent Profile Settings in the VALORANT Console:
Harbor: High Tide
Phoenix: Fire Wall
Skye: Guiding Light
Some Other Key Notes Within The New Patch
A few months ago, VALORANT released a video on their official social handles titled “Keeping Out Community Healthy.” Within this video, VALORANT announces that there will be several severe penalties for players who are disrespectful within the game.
In VALORANT Patch 9.02, these changes to penalties have finally been updated. With VALORANT PC, a new Basic Training (tutorial) and The Range from Console are available now. All new players will have to play through the new tutorial. They will also have an option to play a Bot Training Match. Players already playing the game can access the Basic Training and The Range by going to the Practise arena.
