Call of Duty’s iconic Warzone Resurgence map, Rebirth Island, is introducing several changes ahead of the Warzone Resurgence Series (WRS), including new Points of Interest (POIs) and general map improvements.
In Season 2, Warzone’s two long-term maps are all seeing changes to some extent. Verdansk, which returned in 2025 having been the original launch map for Call of Duty’s battle royale hit in 2020, is getting the new competitive mode, Iron Gauntlet.
Resurgence map Haven’s Hollow will remain the same, though with some new modes, including Ranked being played on there.

Rebirth Island Changes in BO7 Season 2 Update
Rebirth Island, however, is the focus of this update from developers Raven Software. The main change is two new POIs, as follows:
- Turbine
- A large-scale Turbine along the north shore of the island has been developed by Guild forces, west of Industries, east of Dock, and due north from Prison. Offering enhanced rotational possibilities for the Operator, the exterior platforms and concrete bay house a large sulfur vat and a wall of “NOVA 7” canisters. Access the door controls and enter a small, windowless control room under the vat.
- Outpost (Unmarked POI)
- Enhanced loot, combat, and traversal opportunities are available in this unmarked point of interest that lies east of Stronghold, and southwest of Living Quarters. Previously a rough hillside promontory with difficult-to-navigate and exposed pathways, you can now seek additional cover at the jetty with three docking bays.
Other POIs have remained mostly the same, though the patch notes do suggest some minimal changes to improve visibility.
These changes will take place at the launch of Season 2 on Wednesday, February 5. The online qualifiers for the first WRS event, DreamHack Birmingham, kick off on February 9, giving players just a few days to practice with the changes in place.
This year, the Warzone Resurgence Series feeds directly into the Esports World Cup, with two LAN events before the main event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
