Popular Rainbow Six turned variety streamer, Nicholas “Jynxzi” Stewart, has revealed he intends to run an influencer League of Legends tournament.
The tournament will take place on Monday, May 11th, at 10 PM CEST / 4 PM ET, with the streamers attending likely streaming their own POVs.
Who is playing in Jynxzi’s League of Legends tournament?
According to Jynxzi, the event will feature eight teams, each led by a captain. The teams pretty much consist of your average low elo player, with each roster including mostly Iron-to-Silver-ranked streamers. Teams can get one Diamond-ranked player or higher drafted to help balance teams where possible.
Jynxzi confirmed nearly 30 participants are taking part, with the lineup including a mixture of familiar faces in LoL, to other variety streamers learning the game too. The currently announced lineup includes James “MrBeast” Donaldson (who has dreams of owning an LCS team one day), Ludwig “Ludwig” Ahgren, Tyler “Tyler1” Steinkamp, and former professional League of Legends players Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng and Eugene “Pobelter” Park.

Given the swathe of bad PR, especially around the LoL decaying esports ecosystem, all of these former pros to non-endemics in LoL can really offer a lot to the game. NA is known for being a personality-driven region, and right now this is the type of stuff the game could really use.
