It’s cool to see players embrace this action RPG, with bosses like Red Loong providing a challenge that few other games in the genre can compete with. If you’re here, we’re betting you’re stuck on the Red Loong boss fight in Black Myth: Wukong, and we want to help out. Follow our tips to beat this boss!
Where to find Red Loong in Black Myth: Wukong
Red Loong is a completely optional boss in Black Myth: Wukong, but because of how long-winded it is to find, most will miss it on their playthrough. During Chapter 2, defeat the boss, the First Prince of Flowing Sands. From here, use the Wandering Wight’s spirit to ram into the wall in the boss room, cracking it to open up a crevice. Enter, and progress until you find the Loong Scales.
Now, head back to Chapter 1’s Forest of Wolves. Specifically, the Outside the Forest Keeper Shrine. You’ll find a waterfall northwest of the shrine, which you can interact with. This opens up a new area, where Red Loong can be found. It’s unsurprising so many players manage to miss this.
Best ways to beat Red Loong in Black Myth: Wukong
If you’re preparing to take on Red Loong, there are a few things you need to do prior. First, and it’s simple, but be the right level. This boss fight is truly punishing, and if you’ve rushed through the game so far, it’s unlikely you’re going to be ready for this. When you’re at a high level (ideally around midway through Chapter 3), fill up with Shock-Quelling Powder. Red Loong is predominantly a Shock-based boss, so you’ll need it to clear this Black Myth: Wukong status effect.
You’ll find that Red Loong’s weakness is the pots and pans on its back. So, the strategy here is simple. Knock it down, and target this specific area, over and over. When used alongside the Pillar stance, you should be able to do a ton of consistent damage, especially when you use the Wandering Wight spirit at the same time.
