The upper bracket of BetBoom Dacha Belgrade Season 2 is at an end, with Spirit taking down MOUZ in a tight best-of-three series to reach the tournament’s Grand Final. MOUZ’s run in Belgrade isn’t quite at an end yet, though. Read on to find out everything you need to know about Spirit’s win and the rest of the tournament going forward.
Spirit survive scare to finally beat MOUZ
After being unable to best MOUZ since January, Spirit finally put their demons to rest in Belgrade. Remember, they lost 3:0 to MOUZ in the BetBoom Dacha Final earlier this year, so to break the streak here a few months later is a massive confidence booster. After bombing out of IEM Cologne 2024 in disastrous fashion, it was good to see Spirit look a little more like the team we expect them to be, even if things weren’t quite perfect yet.
Spirit and MOUZ traded blows over the first two maps, but donk and friends looked to be running away with things on the Ancient decider. 9:3 was the score at the half, although a late MOUZ comeback had Spirit worried they were about to blow a golden opportunity. It proved to be a fake comeback, with Spirit eventually gathering their strength to pull themselves over the finish line here.
Of course, who else to top the leaderboard for Spirit but donk. 66 kills across three maps underline his phenomenal performance here, followed by sh1ro next closest with 59. While donk enjoyed a quieter Mirage, he took over the server on Nuke and Ancient, proving to be the big difference-maker in the decider. If he continues like this and wins the tournament, we smell another MVP for the young prodigy.
