Alliance wins Apex Legends EWC 2024

To the triumphant roar of the crowd your final winners, Alliance became your Apex Legends EWC 2024 Champions. The final match at the Esports World Cup has been running a multitude of games, and hype and big plays were seen all around.

Apex Legends EWC 2024 Finals

The finals for Apex Legends whittled down 40 teams to just half, and top seeds Falcons and Alliance bested their groups with roughly 30 point leads. Guild Esports fought tooth and nail to make it into the finals via the Last Chance Qualifier.

The better performing teams have been given a points edge going into Sunday Finals. With the Top seeds sitting on 9 points each. Waterfalling down through the remaining teams to close out with the LCQ teams. Guild and Spacestation Gaming starting at a baseline 0.

The Apex finals were one to remember, with a $2 million prize pool, and the first place finishers (team) getting $600,000 dollars and 1000 club points.

A 13 Match Series as Luminosity and Twisted Minds refuse to go out quietly

What was expected to end in 10 matches pushed deep into the late hours as Luminocity dug deep and forced the series into Map 12. A poor performance from Falcons with a target on their back as the front runners saw them unable to clinch.

The points continued to stack for Team Falcons, who consistently showed a mastery of the game in all but their weakest of games. Going into Map 12 10 teams were sitting on “Match Point”. Many of these teams picking up the pace in the double digits as “what else is there to lose”, it was go big or go home, and the mounting pressure of not closing things out had the top teams cracking.

A tense, long fight at the tail of Match 12 between frontrunners Falcons and LG saw neither team giving up ground, but gave time for the 2nd respawns from Twisted Minds, the only remaining team not at Match point in the final 5 squads to push beyond Map 12 to a fated Match 13!

Going into the 13th now 13 of the 20 teams sat on match point.

Final Match to Remember

First of the qualifier teams to have their dreams on the brink were Mizichi. As the 20th place team Blacklist International with nothing to play for turned the tables. Leaving just one alive. Next was a huge drop as Falcons got out, the number 1 team on points dropping at 15th. Yet even with with teams dropping little by little, only 3 remaining teams weren’t on match point.

9 squads, only 1 not on match point. Number 20 against world beaters.

Alliance really became Apex predators in the single digits, pushing the left side of the kill feed. Really only rivaled by Blacklist look to push further. But the head to head would favor the frontrunners.
