The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) virtually convened its Electoral General Assembly (EGA) on 6 April 2025. The EGA was attended by AESF Executive Board members and representatives from 38 AESF Member Associations. The top representative from the regional esports committees around Asia was present at this meeting. Here is everything that you need to know about the new leadership and its impact on Asian esports.
The Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) is the only authorized Electronic Sports Federation by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). It is the only official governing body of electronic sports in Asia. The council consists of members from various Asian countries that have an official esports council within their nation.

Asian Electronic Sports Federation (AESF) Elects New Leadership
Currently, there are 38 member associations within the AESF. Alongside them, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) Deputy Director General, Mr. Vinod Tiwari, was present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the upcoming Asian Games, SEA Games, Gulf Games, East Asian Youth Games, and Asian Youth Games were discussed. This was due to the upcoming 2027 Esports Olympic Games slated to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The voting for the new President and the regional vice presidents followed. After all the votes had been compiled, Mr. Santi Lothong from Thailand, the President of the Thailand Esports Federation, was announced as the President of the AESF. - Doniyorkhon Djuraev from Uzbekistan for the Central Asia region
- Youngman Kim from the Republic of Korea for the East Asia region
- Lokesh Suji from India for the South Asia region
- Do Viet Hung from Vietnam for the Southeast Asia region
- Saeed Sharaf from Syria for the West Asia region
In 2024, the organization held the Asian Esports Games in Bangkok, Thailand. During this event, a plethora of esports tournaments were held, with the major one being the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang event. Alongside that, games like Arena of Valor and football were also hosted by the organization.
Within this event, there was also an MLBB tournament exclusively for female gamers. With the upcoming Asian Champions League taking place soon, it seems like Asia will be a region to watch out for new esports talents.
