BLAST Open Spring 2025 Favorites
Coming into BLAST Open Spring 2025, there is one major favorite standing head and shoulders above the rest: Team Vitality. Having already won ESL Pro League S21 and IEM Katowice 2025, Team Vitality have a real dominance over the scene that looks like it could be set to last for a while. Anyone looking at this event with their head over their heart knows that this team are massive favorites to take home the winning prize here.
Second-favorites are still Spirit. As their recent Semi-Final finish at ESL Pro League showed, sometimes, even donk showing up isn’t enough to carry this team to trophies. They need the full roster online to win trophies. When they’re on form, though, Spirit are very clearly the best of the rest. They’re looking to follow up on their BLAST Bounty win at the start of the year.
You can’t rule out MOUZ, either. Brollan’s men have outperformed community expectations at every turn of late, and they’ll be looking to pick themselves back up from a disappointing ESL Pro League Grand Final loss. A team like this is never more dangerous than when they’re out for revenge, so I’m expecting great things at BLAST Open Spring 2025 from MOUZ.

BLAST Open Spring 2025 Underdogs
So, those are the favorites – how about some underdogs? The first one I want to highlight is Astralis. I won’t get carried away by their 3rd-place finish at PGL Cluj-Napoca, but there’s no denying it was a good step forward for the team. Given the quality of the opposition at BLAST Open Spring 2025, I think they’ll struggle to make the same kind of dent here, but a good performance should secure them an invite to Stage 2 of the BLAST Austin Major, so they absolutely have a lot to compete for here.

I’ve also got to highlight NAVI. Yes, I’m officially calling them underdogs again, which is a weird thought after 2024. They feel like a team in a bit of crisis at the moment, but you have to give them a chance to get things back on track. If it’s going to happen for NAVI in 2025, then they need to start with a good result at BLAST Open Spring 2025. Playoffs should be the bare minimum, but anything beyond that is a win for NAVI. Can they win the tournament, though? I’m not sure – watch this space.
