The usage of Stretched Resolution in VALORANT has significantly escalated over the past few months as players believe it provides slight competition by advantage enlarging hitboxes. To achieve the stretched resolution, players prefer the use of WinExp software which modifies the display settings to make character models appear wider. However, some gamers are afraid that using WinExp will get them banned from VALORANT. Is this concern valid? Let’s find out.

Will using WinExp in VALORANT get you banned? Explained

Using WinExp in VALORANT can potentially lead to a ban, though we do not have concrete evidence available right now. On the official website, Riot Games has clearly mentioned that the usage of third-party applications that aren’t approved by the developers will get you banned without any prior notice.

Unfortunately, WinExp is a third-party software that hasn’t been whitelisted by Riot Games yet, so we advise players to refrain from using this software to achieve the Stretched Resolution in VALORANT.

It’s also important to mention that there are no reports on popular forums like Reddit about players being banned for using WinExp. However, because it can give a slight unfair advantage, Riot Games might take action soon. If they don’t, the developers might eventually incorporate the true stretched resolution feature.

Keep in mind that Riot issues hardware bans, meaning you wouldn’t be able to play VALORANT on the same system again. Therefore, we recommend not using WinExp and waiting for an official announcement.

In the meantime, we recommend playing on a 4:3 resolution, such as 1024 x 768, to achieve a stretched display. While it won’t offer the same experience as WinExp, it’s a safer option, allowing you to enjoy VALORANT games peacefully.

To adjust the settings, launch VALORANT, go to the Settings menu, navigate to the Video tab, and change the resolution to your preference. We’ve been using these settings and can confirm that they provide slightly enlarged hitboxes.
