CoinPoker has launched a new $5,000 Mobile Monthly Freeroll, held on the last Friday of each month. It targets mobile users and offers a substantial prize pool with no buy-in required.

The tournament is open to all new users and aims to showcase the platform’s mobile interface. After signing up with the code MOBILE and playing 10 raked hands, users will be given a seat at the next monthly freefoll.

The launch of the tournament comes as CoinPoker upgrades its mobile web page, rather than focusing on a standalone app. The company said that the new platform is “built to deliver a seamless poker experience directly through iOS and Android browsers.”

In addition to the monthly freeroll, the platform announced that it will launch a series of tournaments over the festive season, aiming to engage players with Christmas and New Year tournaments, as well as 24/7 cash games.

The site also hosts major online poker festivals such as the Coin Series of Poker (CSOP) and the Cash Game World Championship (CGWC). The platform said its aim is “to push modern poker forward with transparent technology and innovative design.”

CoinPoker Ambassadors Pushing Platform Forward

CoinPoker is powered by blockchain technology and has partnered with poker players Patrick Leonard, Bencb, and Mario Mosböck.

Mosböck made the crossover from soccer to poker, giving up a career as a soccer player in his native Austria in 2017 when he was 21 years old. He has since generated more than $17 million in poker earnings.

In a recent interview, the player said he wants to focus on being present while he is young to enjoy the process of playing poker.

Through the partnership, Mosbock has launched his own YouTube channel, creating content to promote CoinPoker. He said he now fully favors poker over soccer.

Crossover Between Esports and Poker

There has also been a crossover between esports and poker, with gaming company UMG signing a deal with the World Series of Poker. The collaboration added a video game stage at WSOP events.

Furia also had a partnership with PokerStars, and Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier has had success as both a member of Team Liquid and a pro poker player.

The launch of CoinPoker’s mobile-focused campaign sends a further signal of the industry’s aim to appeal to a younger generation of players who favor mobile gaming.
