The patch 7.37c may not be the most important patch to release, especially when there’s a game-ruining bug that is making Dota 2 unplayable.
But, at the very least, we got a balance update on multiple heroes and items.
What got nerfed in patch 7.37c?
While several heroes received nerfs as minor as a decimal-value change in damage or duration, Ringmaster, Tinker and even Nature’s Prophet suffered the worst nerfs in patch 7.37c.
Heroes
Not that Ringmaster‘s nerfs weren’t unexpected, since he just made his debut several days ago and Icefrog finally got a glimpse of how overpowered his latest Dota 2 hero is. His nerfs include movement speed reduction, strength attribute gain per level reduced from 1.5 to 1, and his ability, Wheel of Wonder’s timer duration also got an effect duration decreased. While these are truly just balancing nerfs, the cherry on top of these nerfs is Gleipnir’s nerf, an item that he typically builds.
Following Tinker‘s support meta being widely popular in Dota 2 Update 7.37, he received another nerf, this time, on his ability, Defense Matrix, which had its Status Resistance and Cast range reduced. His Level 15 Talent, which upgrades his Defense Matrix Damage Barrier, also reduced drastically.
As for Omniknight, he received multiple nerfs across three of his skills, making him less effective at healing and defense. This includes Purification’s Aghanim’s Shard healing effectiveness, Repel’s reduced duration, and Hammer of Purity’s reduced damage.
Other heroes, such as Ember Spirit, Enchantress, Hoodwink, Marci, and Nature’s Prophet received minor nerfs.
Items
Gleipnir received a reduced health bonus and damage from its Eternal Chains active ability.
Winners of Dota 2 Patch 7.37c
Meanwhile, there are several winners graced by Icefrog’s generosity. For instance, Phantom Lancer‘s illusions now deal more damage while Zeus gets to deal more damage using Lightning Bolt.
The biggest winner of them all is Ogre Magi, whose upgrades revolve around the effectiveness of his Multicast ultimate. Multicast’s multiple instance of Fire Shield now has a priority of Ogre Magi first, followed by heroes, buildings then creeps. It also skips units that already have the buff, making it more efficient. Bloodlust also received a higher bonus attack speed.
Other heroes that received decent buffs include Lion, Lina, Lich and, of course Earthshaker got buffed right before TI.
Frankly, these nerfs and buffs were great in the Patch 7.37c, but Valve seems to be forgetting a major issue plaguing Dota 2 at the moment. The Dota 2 Midas bug still remains and with more clever alternatives to replicate it every hour that the bug isn’t fixed. Dota 2 players were hoping Valve would have disabled Hand of Midas in patch 7.37c but that did not happen.
