The Esports World Cup has had a laundry list of games running over various times on Saudi Arabian Soil with tournament results starting to pour in. Our Rainbow 6 Finals weekend preview is here to show you what’s left after the gruelling Rainbow 6 Siege matches. Some games have already come to their conclusion, with winners being crowned in a variety of titles, but who’s left in Rainbow Six?
Rainbow 6 at the Esports World Cup
Sixteen of the best R6 teams were invited to attend but after the dust settled on the group stage, only 8 remain going into the single elimination bracket.
The remaining teams are playing for a chunk of a hefty $2 million prize pool so there’s a lot on the line. Qualifying from Group A, Team Liquid, WM7 Esports, Team BDS and Spacestation Gaming will be looking to make it far. Their opponents from Group B are DarkZero Esports, Bleed, Faze Clan and Furia.
It’s an incredibly top heavy set of teams, so each match is expected to go down to the wire. All teams are shown as #1 seed in their groups on the EWC bracket however, based on map differential in the few games that were Best of 3 in the later stages of Groups we can actually list the seeding as follows.
Team Liquid
Team BDS
Furia
Bleed
W7M Esports
Spacestation Gaming
FaZe Clan
DarkZero
Many of these teams made the final stages of the Manchester Major and are, of course, no stranger to LAN competition. With the winners of the Major not in attendance, perhaps the way is clear for runners up Team BDS.
R6 Quarterfinals
The quarterfinal matches are set to take place on the 2nd August. Two matches will be happening at the same time with Brazil’s Team Liquid facing off against the North American DarkZero while Bleed and W7M Esports clash. The second set of matches will be billed to start 3 hours after the first matches start.
The English streams have been split across the three partnered twitch channels, as well as streamed on EWC sponsor DAZN. However, it is not clear how they will handle simultatneous broadcast for the finals, as well as on the alternative language channels, where only 1 stream is listed.
