Fortnite OG back at the end of 2023 was one of the most popular periods for the game. Once it left though, we moved back to new content. We even got Reload, a remixed version of the Chapter 1 map. However, with that huge popularity, it’s certain that Fortnite OG 2 could eventually be a thing.

Confirmed pretty quickly, we learned Fortnite OG was coming back eventually. Although we’ve had a decent number of Fortnite seasons in between, there are a lot of reasons to be excited for Fortnite OG 2. It’s not revisiting the same content as last time, but doing something fresh. This is what we know about Fortnite OG 2.

Fortnite OG 2 is Coming Back Soon

Fortnite OG 2 is currently in the works, but when will it hit the game? While some players wanted it as a separate mode, it’s coming back in much the same way as last time. It’ll be a temporary one-month take-over of the core Fortnite modes. We’ll have four weeks where we can play through different parts of Chapter 2 this time, once it’s over it’ll be gone for good.

Fortnite OG is planned to come back once the current Fortnite season ends. That’s scheduled for November 2nd. That’ll be the release date.

What’s Coming in OG 2?

OG 2 will be another revisit to the glory days of Fortnite’s past. Only this time, it won’t be quite as original as OG was. OG 2 is taking us back to Chapter 2. A substantial time ago in terms of how quickly Fortnite moved. Although, it’s significantly more recent than our first OG Chapter 1 revisit was.

Chapter 2 will be revisited, with a different season each week. It’ll run through the first four seasons of Chapter 2. Starting with our lengthy season to check out the new map. Followed by the Midas season, before we get to the flood and the first Marvel season, fitting since we’re in the middle of another Marvel season right now. With these four we should see decent variety to the game over the month.

Fortnite OG 2 will be running for a month over November-December. Once it’s wrapped up, we’re jumping back into Chapter 6! It’ll be fun to revisit a slice of Fortnite’s history first though.

Fortnite OG Return Announced Earlier This Year

The original Fortnite experience, known for its unique blend of survival and building elements, was a revolutionary genre for BR titles. Its return at the end of 2023 saw Fortnite shattering player count records, peaking at over 100 million players in November.

Epic Games’ recent post on X (formerly Twitter) left little doubt about the OG season’s return.

“Ngl the OG season far exceeded our expectations,” the post read, hinting at a 2024 comeback. The announcement concluded with a familiar call to action: “In the meantime, see you on the Battle Bus.”

The response from the Fortnite community to the news has been overwhelmingly positive. Fans have expressed their excitement in comments. Some have called it the “GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME.” On the other hand, some have advocated for the OG season to become a standalone game mode in Fortnite.

Currently, Fortnite is gearing up for Chapter Five and the much-anticipated Big Bang event. The event, featuring popular musician Eminem, is set to mark the beginning of the game’s next era.
