Coming into the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, just two spots were available for next month’s Fall Final in Copenhagen. The stakes were high, and there were some great teams competing for those places. Now, after a few days of scintillating online action, we have our winners: FaZe and Falcons. Both had their own route to making the BLAST Fall Final 2024, and we’re taking a look at how both teams did it.
FaZe take down OG at the Fall Showdown 2024
Coming into the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, FaZe were undoubtedly seen as big favorites to qualify. Their failure to qualify from the BLAST Fall Groups was already a surprise, but they avoided any major slip-ups here to ensure their place in the upcoming Fall Finals. Along the way, their challengers were Rate Atom, paiN Gaming, and OG, none of whom could stand between FaZe and one of the biggest CS2 events of 2024.
FaZe were driven by a resurgent ropz and broky, both of whom bounced back from some disastrous events of late. If they can continue this momentum onto LAN, FaZe can be a challenger again. However, it’s no secret that it’s a massive “if” right now. Still, they’ll be heading to Copenhagen for the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2024, and that’s what really matters.
Falcons dominate Virtus.pro to reach BLAST Fall Final 2024
This was a little more like it from Falcons! The team that have struggled so much of late looked a lot better at the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2024, only dropping a single map to Complexity all tournament. With Danes Snappi, Magisk, and dupreeh on their roster, they’ll be glad to have locked down their place in Copenhagen’s Fall Final next month.
Throughout this tournament, it was a much improving showing from SunPayus, who has made no secret of his struggles on the server throughout 2024. We also saw a much better version of Snappi, who finally found his fragging hat just in time for this tournament. Finally dupreeh, who has been the one shining light for Falcons during their recent run of form, was able to take a backseat and watch as Falcons waltzed past M80, Complexity, and Virtus.pro with ease. Copenhagen awaits!
