Thanks to the Nintendo Direct yesterday, we know that Fortnite is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Of course, this isn’t a big surprise. If the original Switch, was a little bit outdated as a console even when it was released, was able to run the game, then the upgraded, new version would also be able to. However, it won’t just run it. It’s actually going to run well and be a huge upgrade for gamers.

Nintendo Switch 2 to Launch with Fortnite and Have Upgraded Graphics
The Nintendo Switch 2’s leaks are done as Nintendo has officially confirmed or revealed all information. All the speculation about better graphics is done. Games like Fortnite, which is confirmed to be coming to the console on launch day, can have incredible graphics.
Gamers who play handheld can enjoy 1080p 120 FPS, which is a major step up from the original Switch which pretty much always had 30 frames per second. In docked mode, which is broadcast onto a TV, players can enjoy the battle royale in 4K with 60 frames per second. These specs are still slightly behind the PlayStation 5s and Xbox Series Xs of the world. Still, it’s a major upgrade for a console so many players have.
The Switch version of Fortnite, which just got an update, is often maligned. It’s the worst version of the game out there, as the graphics are both poor and don’t render often. Sometimes, player skins (especially collaborations) don’t even show up. That won’t be a problem on the new console. It will run very similarly to other platforms, ending the time when Nintendo players had to suffer in Fortnite.
The console launches on June 5, with pre-orders going live on April 9. Fortnite remains free-to-play, so you won’t need to purchase the game along with the $450 console (or the $500 bundle with Mario Kart World). You can just load up your new console, head to the Nintendo eShop, and download the game. Once it installs, you can enjoy a much better Fortnite experience.
