Fortnite, much like the MCU, often has things planned out well in advance. In this case, the two might have worked together on something huge for both parties. They have an excellent working relationship, as the Chapter 2 Season 4 battle pass was entirely Marvel-themed. Several other battle passes have had Marvel skins, and most movies from the franchise are given some sort of cosmetic in the Item Shop. Rumors abound about the next season and its potential connection to the superhero brand as well. A leak about that went viral over a week ago, and someone gave a theory that proved to be spot-on about the shocking future of the MCU.

Fortnite Leaker Shows Off Wild But Correct MCU Theory
Leaks start for a given season of Fortnite at any point. The leaks for Chapter 5 Season 4 have been flowing for a while. One of them, which was revealed on July 21, said that a lot of codes, including for a skin and a POI, seemed to point to the return of Doctor Doom. Doom, of course, was a vital character in the Chapter 2 Season 4 storyline. That also makes him an integral piece of the game’s lore, too.
That alone isn’t that shocking. Fortnite has brought back NPCs before. Since they used a ton of Marvel characters in that season, it’s unsurprising that they might reuse some. The shocking part of it is the theory one response to the leak made. They claimed that Doctor Doom would be returning since Robert Downey Jr., the actor who played Iron Man, was returning to take up the Doom mantle in future MCU projects. That is as unhinged as it sounds, but it proved to be true.
Over the weekend, Marvel was at San Diego Comic-Con where Downey revealed himself as the Doom actor for Avengers Doomsday in 2026. That is a long way in the future and the next season, where Doom will supposedly come back to Fortnite, is next month. However, interest in Doctor Doom is at an all-time high right now, and Fortnite must have known about that. So did an X user apparently. A big collab could be coming according to some Fortnite surveys.
