Fortnite OG doesn’t have quite as many players as Battle Royale. It’s not as popular, which means it might be a little harder to find consistent matches. That is an area where bots have been a key addition to the game in all game modes. Filling out a lobby with bots speeds things up and gives players a chance to enjoy themselves before having to sweat it out. Now, it’s being reported that the classic mode has even more bots than you’d expect.

Fortnite OG Adds More Bots
Since the inception of the game mode, it has had bots. According to ShiinaBR, the bot count in a given lobby has grown to 92. The minimum number of real players has apparently been significantly reduced, which only adds more room for bots. If a game doesn’t fill up, the servers won’t wait as long to reach a certain number before filling it with bots.
Fortnite OG is what the players wanted. When there was a season that went back in time and sparked a huge revival of the player base, those players said they wanted a permanent mode with the old gameplay, map, and weapons. Epic Games delivered about a year later with the OG mode.
It was pretty popular at first. However, it has since ceded a lot of players back to Battle Royale and other modes. It’s still going, and Epic is highly unlikely to remove the mode, but it’s not getting all that many players.
That, and the potential lower skill level of players who prefer the older, simpler days, has led Epic to reportedly increase the number of bots in a given lobby.
Players want the game mode to stick around. It’s just that there aren’t all that many, and it would reflect poorly on Epic if there were lengthy wait times for every match of OG. It would be like an old online multiplayer game.
Players would want to get in and play, but with so few players, it would take too long, and they’d give up and move on.
