Fortnite’s hearing up for its biggest new release in nearly a year, as we go back to Chapter 2. To take us there, we’re getting a major new event, Fortnite Remix the Prelude. An intro what we’re going to be playing over November.

These Fortnite events have become a bigger part of the game again in Chapter 5. We’ve seen mini-events or full event to close out each Chapter. This season has already had 1, where players took on Doom to bring in Fortnitemares. Now, we’re getting another full event to move us back to Fortnite Remix.

What can we expect at the event? This is what we know so far.

What is Fortnite Remix the Prelude?

Fortnite Remix the Prelude is going to be a new event coming to move the game from Chapter 5, back to Chapter 2. For our last nostalgia throwback mini-season, we didn’t get an event. In-game stories details set up a time machine, but players were just randomly thrown back to Chapter 1. We had to fill in the Fortnite lore details just from what NPCs had to say.

With this event being a bit more full on, we’ll get a more detail. We don’t know what’s going to happen to take us back to Chapter 2, but we’ll definitely see it this time. Fortnite’s official accounts have been teasing the rift butterfly, so they could be involved in the journey. We could also see Midas make a return, a central figure to Chapter 2 who just ran away on a boat last time we saw him.

Remix Gets Separate Playlist

The event is taking place a little differently to the most recent few. Epic’s returning to an event as a separate playlist. When the time comes, you’ll need to queue into this rather than a normal Battle Royale game.

This style of event solves a few problems that have been prominent in recent Fortnite events. Players griefing each other. The Doom mini-event already turned player on player damage down to tiny numbers, but in this mode, you’ll be able to respawn. No fear of missing the event because someone decided to ruin everyone’s fun.

A separate playlist will also mean you’ll need to be there ahead of time to ensure you get access. The servers are often a little crowded during live events, so if you want to avoid the long stuck in queue message, showing up early is recommended.
