Fortnite has evolved significantly since it began in 2017. It’s far from the same game it once was, and a lot of that growth can be tracked through the evolution of skins. Now, Epic Games is reportedly looking to add yet another possible customization option for Fortnite skins: shoes.
Fortnite Looking at Shoes for Skins
According to several leakers, Epic Games is looking into adding shoes for Fortnite skins. They will reportedly be sold in the Fortnite Item Shop as individual items as well as in bundles.
It’s unclear now how much these might cost. However, it’s reasonable to assume that such a small part of the skin wouldn’t cost a tremendous amount of V-Bucks. Additionally, the leaks state that these shoes will not be for every skin.
Epic will reportedly work with a lot of skins, but it won’t be universal. This means that some skins won’t be able to put different shoes on. Likely, collaborative skins won’t, since it wouldn’t make sense for Batman to wear Converse, for example.
Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Thor, and others have designs that are specifically done to match an existing character, and adding different shoes might go against their design.
All or most original skins will likely be able to wear different shoes, but that is also not clear yet. The shoe option does add even more potential collaborations for Epic Games. They’ve already worked with both Nike and Jordan, so they might eventually have some Air Maxes or Jordans available for purchase. Then, players could put a pair of Jordans on Lexa Hexbringer, for example.
Other shoe brands would likely be added in the future for the sole purpose of getting the shoes into the game as well. Keep in mind that this information is based on Fortnite leaks, and is therefore completely speculative until Epic confirms it itself.
