Before we get into the specifics of the roadmap, the most exciting piece of news is about the FFWS 2025 Global Finals. This year, the tournament is set to head to Indonesia.

Furthermore, the tournament will feature an extended format across three weekends in November, where 18 teams will compete for the title of champions.

This year’s competition is set to be even more intense, with huge changes to the rules and points distribution across all tournaments. These have been detailed later in this article.

The exact prize pool hasn’t been revealed yet. Last year, though, the EWC – Free Fire had a $1 million prize pool.

FFWS SEA 2025 Spring and Fall Split Host Cities Unveiled

Garena has also revealed the host cities for the FFWS SEA Spring and Fall Split in its 2025 Free Fire esports roadmap.

  • FFWS SEA Spring Split 2025: Hanoi, Vietnam
  • FFWS SEA Fall Split 2025: Bangkok, Thailand

Free Fire esports 2025 roadmap brings huge changes to the rules

All FFWS tournaments and international events will now feature a new format. The first change is that instead of a three-day final weekend, it will now have only two days: the Point Rush and the one-day Grand Final.

The changes to the rules are as follows:

  • Last Game, Double Elimination: In the last game of each day in the Knockout Stage, there will be double-elimination points up for grabs. Therefore, fans can expect a high-octane, aggressive match at the end of the day.
  • Champion Rush Point: In this new format, teams must accumulate points to reach a Champion Rush Point. Once this is secured, the team to win the next BOOYAH! will be crowned the champion.
  • Unique Active Skill Rule: Each member of a team will need to equip a different active skill. Therefore, there will be more diversity in the lineups.
