Let me guess – you’re hellbent on beating the Wandering Wight in Black Myth: Wukong, but you’re struggling to get past it. We’re going to show the best ways to beat the Wandering Wight in Black Myth: Wukong, putting this pesky boss to rest. We’d recommend you’re at least Level 10 before attempting this guy.
First things first, though. Do not fight the Wandering Wight before learning how to absorb Spirits. If you defeat it prior to this, you won’t get the opportunity to absorb its Spirit, so just run past it initially before coming back later.
Best ways to beat the Wandering Wight in Black Myth: Wukong
To beat the Wandering Wight, you’re going to want the Red Tides transformation. This gives you a second bar of health when using it, and is unlocked by beating another boss, Guangzhi, a little further into the game. This will allow you to use Black Myth: Wukong Focus Points to set the Wandering Wight on fire with heavy attacks.
You’ll also be using an awful lot of the Immobilize spell, too. This is a great way to deal tons of damage, but you must run the second the spell is broken. The Wandering Wight is deadly if it lands its attacks, so this isn’t a boss fight you can easily tank. Especially not at this early stage of the game.
Where to find the Wandering Wight
With those essential spells discussed, you will head to the Forest of Wolves in Black Wind Mountain. This is where the Wandering Wight can be found. At the start of the fight, you should be able to sneak up on the boss to land a few early hits. Stagger him for extra damage before retreating.
Now, it’s all about knowing the attacks. The Wandering Wight has various stomps and spins that can deal big damage, but it’s the earthquake slam and palm blast that will really decimate you. If he’s holding one hand in the air – run. That’s the earthquake slam, a powerful AOE attack that can one-hit-kill you if you’re not prepared. The palm blast is an easily dodged beam, but it won’t matter if you’re not paying attention. Just keep using your spells (mainly the Red Tides transformation) while figuring out how the Wandering Wight telegraphs its attacks and you should be able to take it down.
If you’re struggling with the attack patterns, take the time to learn them one at a time. There is no punishment for death, so each is an excellent opportunity to learn how the Wandering Wight attacks.
