Bunnyhopping in Counter-Strike is the art of continuously jumping, building speed with every hop due to how the Source engine handles momentum and velocity. In CS2, bunnyhopping has become much harder than it was in CS:GO, and some would even argue it’s impossible to do consistently thanks to the sub-tick system replacing 64 and 128-tick servers. Still, we’re going to show you how to bhop in CS2, as it’s definitely still possible (kind of).

CS2 bhop commands

Right off the bat, we need to tell you that you can’t bhop in CS2 online matches. At least, not like you used to be able to. Through a couple of lucky bhops, you can manage to achieve a slight momentum boost, but even the best CS2 players struggle to get anything consistent in the new game.

However, in private or offline matches, you’re able to use a bunch of CS2 bhop commands in order to make sure you’re consistently bunnyhopping. This can be fun when in matches with friends, allowing you to surprise them at positions they wouldn’t expect you to be in. To activate these, enter the following CS2 bhop commands into your console.

sv_autobunnyhopping true
sv_enablebunnyhopping true
sv_staminamax 0
sv_staminajumpcost 0
sv_staminalandcost 0

After you’ve enabled these CS2 bunnyhop commands, you should find that you’re able to hold your Jump key down for automatic bhops. If you hold Jump while holding the W key to move forward, you’ll find that you build a ton of momentum really fast, as long as you’re not blocked by anything. It’s a ton of fun to fly around all of the CS2 maps, attempting to avoid losing your momentum and treating each location as an obstacle course.

Unfortunately for anyone looking at how to bhop in CS2, this is the only consistent way to do it. For online matches, it remains problematic. If you really want to bhop in CS2 online matches, try binding your Jump key to your mouse wheel scroll using the following command:

bind “mwheeldown” “+jump_”

This means that when you scroll down to jump, it’s easier to hit the frame-perfect timing for the bhop than with the Space bar. But unfortunately in CS2, this still doesn’t guarantee perfect bhops.
