After 2000 hours of gameplay and taking expert opinions into account, we have concluded that Yellow (Deuteranopia) is by far the best highlight color available in VALORANT. By default, the game recommends using the Red color. However, we’ve observed that Yellow offers much better contrast and visibility compared to other options such as Yellow (Protanopia) and Purple (Tritanopia).
This is especially helpful in brighter maps such as Abyss, where it’s difficult to track enemy hitboxes. Finally, it’s worth noting that the choice is purely subjective, which is why we encourage everyone to explore all the options by heading to the range mode and choosing the one you’re most comfortable with before jumping into the ranked play.
