If you’re struggling to aim at your opponents in VALORANT, you might be using the wrong enemy color. In case you weren’t aware, VALORANT highlights your enemies with a specific color to help you distinguish them from allies. While there are several color options available, many players are unaware of how to change them. Therefore, we’ll walk you through the complete process of changing enemy colors in VALORANT.
Steps to change enemy color in VALORANT
Changing your enemy’s color is relatively straightforward and can be done in a few simple steps:
Launch VALORANT on your gaming PC.
Head to the Settings menu.
Navigate to the General tab and find the Accessibility options.
There, you’ll find Enemy Highlight Color.
Select the one you’re most comfortable with.
Finally, close the settings once you’re done to save the changes.
Thankfully, unlike graphics settings, changing the enemy color in VALORANT won’t affect the FPS counter, which means you’ll continue to have a seamless experience even if you modify it. However, at this point, you might be wondering what the best enemy color option to use in the game is. Let’s find out.
Best enemy color to use in VALORANT
After 2000 hours of gameplay and taking expert opinions into account, we have concluded that Yellow (Deuteranopia) is by far the best highlight color available in VALORANT. By default, the game recommends using the Red color. However, we’ve observed that Yellow offers much better contrast and visibility compared to other options such as Yellow (Protanopia) and Purple (Tritanopia).
This is especially helpful in brighter maps such as Abyss, where it’s difficult to track enemy hitboxes. Finally, it’s worth noting that the choice is purely subjective, which is why we encourage everyone to explore all the options by heading to the range mode and choosing the one you’re most comfortable with before jumping into the ranked play.
