Fortnite has jumped into a brand new collab season with Star Wars. Meaning Fortnite lightsabers are back! Now that we get new Melee weapons every season though, the older lightsabers don’t quite feel as powerful. If you’re making the right use of each the Force powers, there still quite an effective tool this season though. What are each of the Fortnite lightsabers and what powers come with them?
The Fortnite lightsabers are now obtainable in two different ways. The first is to go through a force portal, getting a force power and extra mobility along with your Fortnite melee weapon. The other is to loot it off a dead player, which gives a much more watered-down version. What are each of the lightsabers and which is the one to focus on collecting this season?

How to Get Fortnite Lightsabers
The lightsabers in Fortnite this season are the main new melee item. If you want to collect one in each game, you have a couple of options. There’s a Fortnite Mythic item which is a one-of-a-kind lightsaber, Darth Vader’s one. That’s collectible by fighting the boss at his POI. However, the other lightsabers are all collected in the same way.

You’ll need to wait until after the first storm circle. Then, we’ll get lightsaber portals appearing on the map. These are marked on the map once you’re close enough. However, you won’t be able to see all of them if they aren’t close enough. To collect one, head to a portal and interact with the NPC out the front of it. You’ll enter it, and after a Star Wars wipe come back with a lightsaber and new force power!
The only other way to get Fortnite lightsabers is to kill a player holding one already. However, if you do it this way, you won’t get the force power. That’s specific to the player, it doesn’t carry over when someone new picks up the lightsaber.
All Force Powers with Lightsabers
If you want to make the most out of the new Fortnite lightsabers, the force powers are a major boost. We’ve got the force powers featured previously, but also a new one for this season. The power you get depends on which of the portals you go through. These are all of them:
- Lightsaber Throw – Exclusive to Vader’s lightsaber. Defeat him as a boss, then enter his new gate.
- Force Push – A Rey hologram portal
- Force Pull – The Mace Windu portal
- Lightning – The Emperor portal
- Force Throw – Darth Maul force power
That’s all of the Fortnite Force Powers this season! Some more can come with future Fortnite updates. Like the Force throw which was added with Darth Maul. Some of them are a little better than others, but most have uses.

The saber throw is great for breaking into builds, the pull and pull have their uses in combat too. Lightning is an auto-aim attack which can be quite useful if a player isn’t expecting it too. There will be ways to use each of the Fortnite Lightsabers for Victory Royales this season.
