Mech Arena has recently undergone a substantial rework, changing the entire system of how you unlock new mechs in the game. Previously, players would complete the Progress Path system to unlock in-game characters, but this has now been replaced with the Gear Hub. As a result, many players are wondering what the Gear Hub is and how they can use it to unlock new mechs in Mech Arena.

Gear Hub is a new progression system in Mech Arena that is split into nine tiers. Each tier, once unlocked, rewards you with a specific mech or weapon that you can use in battles. To unlock these tiers, you need to spend Stars, which you can earn by spending Credits or A-Coins, the game’s primary currencies. It’s important to note that you can’t directly unlock the ninth tier and must progress sequentially. Here’s the list of stars required to unlock each tier in the Gear Hub:

Tier I: Unlocked in Tutorial
Tier II: 5 Stars
Tier III: 18 Stars
Tier IV: 24 Stars
Tier V: 24 Stars
Tier VI: 30 Stars
Tier VII: 30 Stars
Tier VIII: 36 Stars
Tier IX: 36 Stars

While you can spend Credits to unlock the base level of weapons and mechs, A-Coins are used to unlock more advanced items and upgrade the ranks of the mechs you unlock. It’s also important to mention that the methods for earning these two currencies are similar, but obtaining A-Coins is relatively more difficult since it is a rarer currency.

In short, the Gear Hub functions much like a battle pass, where you progress to unlock new rewards.
