With the regular split coming to an end, here is everything you need to know about the LCK 2024 Summer Playoffs.
LCK Summer Playoffs 2024 – 4 teams to Worlds
After the win from EDG during the World Championship back in 2021, Korea was the winning region in the last two editions thanks to DRX and T1. Despite multiple LPL teams performing well internationally, it didn’t stop the LCK from reigning supreme, extending their title as the most successful region in LoL history.
With one international title (MSI) under their belt this year, the LCK will be heading into the LCK Summer playoffs knowing that 4 teams will represent the region in Europe later this year. For the first time ever, one team has already locked its place at the biggest tournament of the year: thanks to Gen.G’s win at MSI and qualification to the summer playoffs, they have secured their spot among the 20 teams at Worlds 2024.
The format
The LCK will continue to utilize the double elimination format (starting in round 2) from the previous year. The top six teams will take part with the #1 and #2 seeds getting a bye to Round 2. The #3 to #6 seed will start in round 1 with the losers immediately eliminated. All matches are going to be Bo5 and the winner will qualify for Worlds as the first seed.
