The Lego side of Fortnite has been a huge expansion to the game. It might even have a good number of players who aren’t as interested in Battle Royale. Most skins in Fortnite cost V-Bucks or come from the battle Pass. However, for promotions, celebrations, and other one-offs, Epic sometimes gives them away for free. Aside from the really old free ones, these aren’t the rarest skins in Fortnite. However, they can be a great way to add variety as a free player and fit in a bit better with Fortnite’s colorful world. To encourage more established Battle Royale players to drop their weapons and go into the friendly Lego world, Epic had quests to intro the game mode. These had two rewards. The first was XP, great if you normally grind Fortnite XP maps to reach Level 100. The other was a free Fortnite Lego skin.
This skin, Trailblazer Tai, was accessible for reaching a certain point in questlines for the new modes. All you have to do is head to the shop and collect the Trailblazers pack in the packs section. Then, you’ll get some “Trailblazers quests” to do basic tasks in Lego Fortnite. Once done, you’ll unlock the free Lego Fortnite skin.

One promotion ran by epic to celebrate the launch of Lego Fortnite allows you to get an exclusive skin. Connect your Lego and Epic Games accounts to unlock this one. It sometimes takes a day or two to end up in your locker, but you should be able to gain the skin automatically.

Those are the free skins that were pushed out as part of Lego Fortnite’s first launch, but every Fortnite skin is actually a Lego Fortnite skin too! There are Lego versions available for nearly all of the skins in the game. The only ones missing are Fortnite collabs with rights issues. This means pretty much all free Fortnite skins have a Lego version.
These skins come in a few different forms. But there’s a few events to watch out for to make sure you’re collecting them all. The biggest of these is probably Winterfest. Open up your presents and you’ll typically get two free Lego Fortnite skins each year. That’s along with any other bonus skins they do throughout the year.
