LoL Patch 14.24 – Rounding off the season

LoL Patch 14.23 went live with a few tweaks to mainly nerf down some of the best-performing champions while also giving some of the less popular ones additional power.

While the changes haven’t been as substantial, there is a lot to look forward to for fans in the upcoming season. Riot revealed several changes for 2025, including the introduction of seasonal themes and only one ranked reset at the start of the season. We will look more into those changes later.

In the meanwhile, you can look forward to getting a first taste of some of the new mechanics that will be applied to the new season, including the new Teleport.

Patch 14.24 Release Date

According to the official patch schedule, Patch 14.24 will be released on Wednesday, December 11. This will be the last update planned for the year before the new season starts.

How will the upcoming patch impact the meta?

While the list of changes is not that big as of right now, the preparation for the offseason will be quite impactful. Aside from the previewed changes, we should expect more stuff to be implemented. Cassiopeia

  • Passive move speed: 4 – 72 ⇒ 6 – 108, if her team gets the feats of strength

Master Yi

  • Q crit damage: 35% ⇒ 56.25% (AD ratio: 17.5% ⇒ 28.125%)

Rell

  • Base health: 610 ⇒ 640
  • Passive resist steal per stack: 2% ⇒ 3%
  • Passive min resist steal: 1 – 2 ⇒ 1.5 – 3
  • W base shield: 15 – 115 ⇒ 25 – 125
  • W shield health ratio: 12% ⇒ 13%

Viktor

  • Selection radius: 120 ⇒ 160
  • Q base shield increased: 27 – 105 (based on level) ⇒ 40 – 115 (based on level)
  • W slow increased: 30-45% ⇒ 33-45%
  • E rename: Death Ray ⇒ Hextech Ray
  • R rename: Chaos Storm ⇒ Arcane Storm
  • R no longer disrupts channels on cast
  • R evolve now increases size by 40% and extends duration by 3 seconds per champ damaged by storm that dies

Warwick

  • W attack speed duration: 1 second ⇒ 2.5 seconds

  • New recipe is Aegis + Giant’s Belt + 800 g = 2800 g
  • HP: 350 ⇒ 400
  • Armor: 60 ⇒ 25
  • Now has 25 MR
  • Cooldown: 5 seconds ⇒ 4 seconds
  • Base damage: 30 – 50 ⇒ 8 – 15

Heartsteel

  • Base damage: 80 ⇒ 70
  • Health ratio: 12% bonus item HP ⇒ 6% max HP

Warmog’s Armor

  • Winged Moonplate replaced by Giant’s Belt
  • Move speed removed, both stat and passive
  • Regen per second: 5% max HP ⇒ 3% max HP
  • Bonus HP threshold: 1500 ⇒ 2000
  • Cooldown: 6 seconds ⇒ 8 seconds
  • Now grants 12% increased HP

Elixir 

  • Level requirement: 9 ⇒ 12
  • Can now only purchase one copy of an elixir at a time
  • Elixir of Iron tenacity: 25% ⇒ 20%
  • Elixir of Wrath AD: 30 flat ⇒ 28-30 (levels 12-18)

System Changes

Sorcerer’s rune

  • Nullifying Orb removed & replaced with Axiom Arcanist
  • Axiom Arcanist: your ultimate is more powerful. Scoring a takedown on an enemy champion reduces your ultimate’s current cooldown by 7% and increases its power by 12% (power refers to damage, healing, and shielding)

Domination Runes

  • Eyeball Collection, Ghost Poro, Zombie Ward removed, 3 new runes added
  • Sixth Sense – automatically sense a nearby untracked and unseen ward, tracking it for your team. Also reveals the ward for 10 seconds at level 11
    • Cooldown: 300 seconds (melee)/360 seconds (ranged)
  • Grisly Mementos
    • Collect 1 memento on champion takedown, up to 25 stacks
    • Gain 4 trinket ability haste for each stack. In game modes where vision trinkets do not exist, gain 2 summoner spell haste instead
  • Deep Ward
    • Your wards in the enemy jungle are deep.
    • Deep wards gain +1 extra health and (+30 – 45 seconds) increased duration (+30 – 120 seconds for trinket stealth wards)

Teleport

  • Channel duration: 4 seconds ⇒ 3 seconds
  • Now dashes the target to the location after the channel instead of blinking, like hexgates
  • Max travel time for base TP is 5 seconds, 4 for unleashed
  • Can target minions and wards again
  • Base cooldown: 360 seconds ⇒ 300 seconds
  • Unleashed cooldown: 330-240 seconds ⇒ 300-240 seconds

Turret

  • Fortification damage: 85% ⇒ 50%

Conqueror

  • DoT stack lock out timer: 5 seconds ⇒ 4 seconds
