MultiVersus is one of the biggest fighting games of this year, but it’s been missing at our biggest event so far. EVO 2024 is a celebration of all things fighting games, but from the initial schedule, it did look like there wouldn’t be a MultiVersus EVO event this year. However, this might not mean we won’t see anything from the platform fighter at the tournament. An announcement is being teased for Saturday.
MultiVersus has been offline for a little while, but when it first launched it had a side event at EVO. Not a mainstage event, but a tournament all the same testing out what was a brand-new release. Now that the game has returned from its beta, MultiVersus tournaments might start picking up again soon.

MultiVersus EVO 2024 Announcement Coming
Fans of MultiVersus might have thought they’d have to sit out of EVO 2024. The game wasn’t shown up in a tournament, but could definitely make the roster in the future. However, Player First had something else up their sleeves.
The developers have taken to Twitter to talk about a special announcement coming. During the Mortal Kombat 1 Top 6 EVO stream, a MultiVersus announcement will be made. This will be taking place on Saturday, midway through the final bracket.
What’s coming in the announcement? We don’t know yet, but fans have some solid theories. We’re closing in on the end of MultiVersus season 1 which means a new season starting soon. We could see some of this content being trailed, like new fighters coming to the game. It’s possible it’s even some kind of Mortal Kombat tie-in coming.
We already know a couple of the new MultiVersus characters thanks to some leaks. However, a Mortal Kombat character isn’t expected right now. It could definitely happen though, especially given the Warner bros link between the two games. We’ll have to wait and see what comes in the MultiVersus EVO announcement when we hear about what’s up next.
